We built this city...on coworking!

To a lot of people, coworking doesn't mean the same thing as it does to me. Or as it does to Tony Bacigalupo. Coworking space has finally come to Manhattan. Until now, the closest coworking space to Manhattan was The Change You Want To See in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The challenge to get this space open was huge, but Tony, along with the help of a few friends was able to make it happen. Coworking changes a lot of things for a lot of people. Working from home can get lonely and unproductive. Don't you want to have a professional space you can go to? So that you can focus, and host meetings with potential clients? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to go get some work done in between meetings without having to make a trip home so Hoboken, Queens, or Brooklyn? Not to mention, working with other people can get your juices flowing!

New Work City is in the Village and is a gorgeous looking office space where you can sign up for a monthly rate at a given level of service allowing access from one day per week to unfettered 24 hour access. Wired and wireless internet access, conference room, and kitchenette. This is a place where I would love to go if I had time to kill and work to do in the city. Check out the site and spread the word. Coworking isn't for everyone, but if you think it will work for you, New Work City is the way to do it.

Great idea! My fear of working from home is that I would never get out of my PJs = unproductive. I don't think I could survive without my coworkers. Very cool initiative.

It was great to get out and meet all of the NWC supporters on Saturday night. Once my economic situation changes, I hope to become a regular resident of New Work City.
